Rangers head coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst has admitted that he already has his sights set on winning the Europa League after beating RB Leipzig 3-2 on aggregate in the semi-finals.

After losing 1-0 in the first leg last week, strikes in Thursday's second leg at Ibrox from James Tavernier and Glen Kamara turned the tie on its head and put the Gers in front on aggregate at the break.

Christopher Nkunku then pulled one back for Leipzig in the 71st minute, but the man of the hour was John Lundstram, who tapped in from close range 10 minutes later to send Rangers to their first European final since 2008.

Speaking to BT Sport after the match, Van Bronckhorst dedicated the victory to kitman Jimmy Bell, who passed away at the age of 69 on Tuesday, and also admitted that he did not expect to reach the final when he took charge at Ibrox in November.

"It is very hard to find words. It's been an amazing night. We said we would do everything possible, and the players, together with the crowd, were fantastic," said the 47-year-old.

"We made the atmosphere we needed. You cannot write a script better than this. We are all very proud, and we all toasted Jimmy.

"The atmosphere goes both ways. For us, it's very important to help us during the game and for the opponent it's difficult to play in. [Leipzig] are a team with a lot of experience and quality. To win against them is amazing.

"[Reaching the final] was not what I was thinking (when I took the job). My first game in charge was against Sparta Prague (in the group stage) and we knew the result would take us into Europe after the break.

"That was our goal but we have taken each opponent game by game and I'm very proud of our achievements. Now we play a final. Not many players play finals. I played one with Barcelona in the Champions League in Paris and a World Cup final in South Africa with my country. It's not for every player, but we will do everything we can to win it."

Rangers will face Eintracht Frankfurt in the final at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in Seville on May 18, after the Bundesliga outfit beat West Ham United 3-1 on aggregate. body check tags ::
