How Paris Saint-Germain could line up against Bordeaux

Sports Mole looks at how Paris Saint-Germain could line up for their Ligue 1 clash with Bordeaux on Saturday evening.

Paris Saint-Germain will be looking to return to winning ways in Ligue 1 when they welcome Bordeaux to the Parc des Princes for a fascinating encounter on Saturday evening.

This weekend's hosts suffered their first domestic defeat since the second weekend of the season last time out as Monaco prevailed 3-2 in a thrilling fixture, with Cesc Fabregas netting the winner from the penalty spot after Abdou Diallo hauled down Kevin Volland.

However, Thomas Tuchel's men head into their encounter with Bordeaux following a 1-0 victory over RB Leipzig in the Champions League, with Neymar netting the only goal of the game from 12 yards in that one.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how PSG could line up for Saturday's visit of Bordeaux.

Out: Marquinhos (groin), Julian Draxler (thigh), Thilo Kehrer (groin), Juan Bernat (ACL), Abdou Diallo (suspended)
Doubtful: Mauro Icardi (knee), Idrissa Gueye (hamstring)

Thomas Tuchel has bemoaned PSG's plethora of absentees over the past few weeks, but players are slowly starting to filter out of the champions' medical room amid an unrelenting fixture schedule.

While the game will come too soon for the trio of Julian Draxler, Thilo Kehrer and Juan Bernat, Mauro Icardi and Idrissa Gueye are reportedly closing in on returns to fitness and could be involved in some capacity at the weekend.

Icardi and Gueye are not expected to be involved from the first whistle, though, while Diallo's sending-off against Monaco sees him serve a one-match suspension for the visit of Bordeaux.

The void left by Diallo in defence should be filled by Presnel Kimpembe, who missed out against Leipzig due a ban of his own, and PSG have also confirmed that Marquinhos will be rested for this one due to a slight adductor problem.

Marquinhos's absence opens the door for Timothee Pembele to make his debut but the more experienced Danilo Pereira may be required to deputise in defence instead, while full-backs Colin Dagba and Layvin Kurzawa may come in for Alessandro Florenzi and Mitchel Bakker.

Marco Verratti got some minutes on the board against Leipzig, and with Pereira potentially set to fill in at centre-back, Verratti could make a highly-anticipated start for PSG this weekend.

Verratti, Ander Herrera and Rafinha could therefore form a midfield trio - which would also give Leandro Paredes the night off - and there will inevitably be some changes up top too.

Angel Di Maria, who won PSG's penalty against Leipzig, could make way for Pablo Sarabia on the right flank, while the fit-again Moise Kean will look to build on the five goals he has already scored in PSG colours as he lines up alongside Sarabia and Kylian Mbappe.
