Wednesday's Championship predictions including Nottingham Forest vs. QPR

:Headline: Wednesday's Championship predictions including Nottingham Forest vs. QPR: ID:480784: from db_amp
Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Championship fixtures, including Nottingham Forest vs. QPR.

Nott'm Forest vs. QPR (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Nottingham Forest play host to Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday evening knowing that they can move to within one point of their fourth-placed opponents in the Championship standings.

However, with Forest down in ninth position, QPR are aware that victory at the City Ground will leave their hosts as clear outsiders to end the season in the playoffs.

We say: Nottingham Forest 2-1 Queens Park Rangers

On the back of their excellent win at Luton, QPR head into this game with plenty of confidence. Nevertheless, we cannot ignore Forest's general dominance at the City Ground, leading to a prediction of a narrow victory for the East Midlands giants.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Blackpool vs. Sheff Utd (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Sheffield United square off against Blackpool on Wednesday evening needing all three points to remain in the Championship playoff positions.

While Blackpool are all the way down in 12th place in the standings, a fourth successive win will move them to within three points of their next opponents.

We say: Blackpool 1-1 Sheffield United

Despite the difference in league positions, there is an argument that Blackpool are the favourites to prevail from this contest. However, respect should still be given to the visitors, who we feel will do just enough to claim a share of the spoils on the North-West coast.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Cardiff vs. Stoke (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

With pressure building on Michael O'Neill, Stoke City will aim to break a seven-game winless run in the Championship when they travel to Cardiff City on Wednesday.

The Potters were held by basement side Peterborough United at the weekend, while their hosts drew with Preston North End after important back-to-back wins.

We say: Cardiff City 2-1 Stoke City

The two sides meet with contrasting levels of confidence, and we back the Bluebirds to continue their improvement.

O'Neill will feel that his side need a victory to salvage their season and for him to gain some favour back in Staffordshire, but we expect them to fall just short given their lack of momentum.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Coventry vs. Hull City (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Following an important victory at the weekend, Coventry City will look to give their playoff hopes another boost on Wednesday, when they play host to Hull City.

A 4-1 win over sixth-placed Sheffield United saw the Sky Blues climb back up to 10th spot in the Championship table, while their hosts sit 20th, albeit with a healthy lead over the relegation zone.

We say: Coventry City 3-1 Hull City

Hull find themselves in a tough spell, and, with the incentive of climbing closer to the top six, Coventry should have what it takes to pick up a relatively dominant win.

Robins's side were particularly impressive at the weekend, and if they can replicate that performance, they will have more than enough to see off the visitors.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Luton vs. Preston (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Playoff-chasing Luton Town play host to Preston North End on Wednesday evening needing to bounce back from suffering two defeats in their last three fixtures.

Preston, currently occupying 13th spot in the standings, travel to Kenilworth Road knowing that victory is realistically required to keep them in the Championship playoff hunt.

We say: Luton Town 2-1 Preston North End

Given the amount of draws which have been recorded since Lowe's arrival at Preston, a low-scoring stalemate cannot be ruled out. Nevertheless, Luton need to capitalise on their home fixtures, leading us to predict a more ruthless performance as they bid to stay in close proximity to the top six.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Millwall vs. Huddersfield (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Huddersfield Town make the trip to Millwall on Wednesday evening realistically requiring all three points to remain in the automatic promotion race.

However, just nine points separate the third-placed Terriers and Millwall who are in 11th spot, giving the home side an opportunity to make significant ground in their bid for the Championship playoffs.

We say: Millwall 1-2 Huddersfield Town

With Huddersfield having looked more vulnerable of late, Millwall will fancy their chances of causing what would be perceived to be an upset. Nevertheless, we cannot ignore Huddersfield's unbeaten streak, and that confidence in the final third might be enough to get the better of a resolute defence.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Peterborough vs. Swansea (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Peterborough United will look to climb off the foot of the Championship table on Wednesday, when they welcome Swansea City to the Weston Homes Stadium.

The Posh find themselves in the midst of a 14-game winless run in the league, although they do remain just two points behind 22nd-placed Barnsley.

We say: Peterborough United 1-1 Swansea City

While Swansea have not tended to play out many draws recently, we see a share of the spoils being the most likely outcome on Wednesday.

The hosts will certainly be battling hard to keep themselves in the fight for survival but may not possess the quality to put the Swans to the swords.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.
