Martin Dubravka: 'I want to give Newcastle United my best years'

Slovakia international goalkeeper Martin Dubravka says that he is hoping to give Newcastle United the best years of his career.

Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka has stated that he wants to give the club the best years of his career.

The Slovakian converted his loan move into a permanent switch during the summer after impressing in the second half of the campaign last term during a successful switch from Sparta Prague.

Dubravka will face competition for the Magpies gloves from Rob Elliot, Karl Darlow, Matz Sels and Freddie Woodman, but the 29-year-old is relishing the challenge.

"I think it's good to have great teammates with great quality," Dubravka told the Newcastle Chronicle.

"Then you can push yourself harder and higher. It is important to have competition around and we're all trying hard.

"I am looking forward to the new season so much. I signed a contract for four years and hope to have my best years. I want to stay at this club for as long as possible."

Dubravka made 12 appearances during his loan spell with Newcastle and helped the side to a 10th-place finish in the Premier League.
