Sports Mole previews Sunday's Eredivisie clash between FC Twente and NEC, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Looking to extend their unbeaten run which currently stands at six matches, FC Twente welcome NEC to the Grolsch Veste Stadium on Sunday.

On the other hand, the away side come into the clash in search of back to back victories on the road for the first time this term.

Match preview

Twente had to settle for a point for the second game running following a 1-1 draw versus Willem II on Sunday.

Ron Jans's men took the lead in the sixth minute thanks to Dimitrios Limnios's opener before conceding to Che Nunnely just past the midway point of the first half.

The Tukkers remain seventh in the standings but have now lost ground on some of the other teams in the upper echelons of the Eredivisie table.

Next up for the Enschede-based outfit is a clash versus an opposing side against whom they have a mixed record, picking up three wins and three loses apiece in the last six meetings.

Sunday's hosts, who have won each of their last three home games against the visitors, now seek to get back to winning ways off the back of consecutive stalemates.

NEC were beaten for the third time in four league outings courtesy of a narrow 1-0 defeat versus Vitesse at the GoffertStadion on Sunday.

Nikolai Frederiksen broke the deadlock quarter of an hour into the match and that was enough to put Roger Meijer's men to the sword in Nijmegen.

The Eniesee have struggled of late following a solid start to the season and have now dropped to 11th place on the log, albeit only a point off the top half.

Seeking to become the first visiting team to win this fixture since 2014, Sunday's visitors have it all to do if they are to come away with all three points.

Team News

Twente's duo of Vaclav Cerny and Jody Lukoki remain sidelined with long-term knee injuries and will both miss the visit of NEC this weekend.

Ramiz Zerrouki received his marching orders in the first half of the hosts' last involvement, ruling him out of Sunday's contest.

Luca Everink continues to battle with a muscle injury, while Kik Pierie is yet to fully recuperate from a back problem.

Rens van Eijden is set to sit out a 13th consecutive game as he remains out with a knee problem which he picked up back in May.

Nineteen-year-old Mathias De Wolf is also not expected to feature for the away side due to a muscle injury, and he is joined on the treatment table by Magnus Mattsson who is nursing a knee injury.

FC Twente possible starting lineup:
Unnerstall; Sadilek, Hilgers, Propper, Everink; Brama, Ilic, Vlap; Rots, Van Wolfswinkel, Limnios

NEC possible starting lineup:
Branderhorst; Barreto, Odenthal, Marquez; Van Rooij, Schone, Bruijn, El Karouani; Duelund, Akman, Okita

We say: FC Twente 2-1 NEC

Twente are the favourites to emerge victorious as they boast the better and more experienced squad of the two teams. We fancy them to claim all three points, albeit by only a narrow margin.
