Mark Sampson latest

England's head coach Mark Sampson walks on the field at the Moncton Stadium on June 8, 2015

Mark Sampson has been sacked from his role as manager of the England Women side after almost four years in charge.

The 34-year-old was cleared by two separate investigations following allegations by former Lionesses striker Eni Aluko that he had previously made racist comments towards her and ex-teammate Drew Spence.

Sampson has consistently denied the allegations but the story resurfaced over the last week after Spence gave a statement backing up Aluko's claims.

The FA announced on September 20 that Sampson had been relieved of duties after it was presented with evidence of "inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour" from an entirely separate incident while he was working at the Bristol Academy in 2014.
