Mohamed Sissoko: 'Paul Pogba wants to join Juventus above Real Madrid'

Former Juventus midfielder Mohamed Sissoko claims that Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba would rather rejoin the Italian outfit than sign for Real Madrid.

Former Juventus midfielder Mohamed Sissoko has claimed that Manchester United's Paul Pogba wants a return to the Turin club rather than a move to Real Madrid this summer.

Pogba's future has once again been the subject of speculation this season, despite the Frenchman being limited to only eight appearances across all competitions due to injury.

Madrid have long been regarded as the front-runners for his signature, but Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are also understood to be interested, while Manchester United remain hopeful of keeping him.

Should the 27-year-old leave Old Trafford then Sissoko believes that his most likely destination is Juventus, where he made 178 appearances and won four successive Serie A titles between 2012 and 2016.

"I know that [Zinedine] Zidane wants him at Real Madrid, but he'd like to return to Juventus," Sissoko told AS.

"These kinds of situations don't only come down to Pogba, but also to Manchester United - he's under contract there until 2021.

"In my opinion, Pogba should find a team that makes him feel important so he can get back to his best."

Pogba has made 150 first-team appearances during his two spells at United, scoring 31 goals and assisting 31 more.
