Real Madrid unwilling to match Paul Pogba's wages?

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba will reportedly have to take a pay cut on his £290,000-a-week wages if he is to join Real Madrid.

Real Madrid reportedly retain a strong interest in Paul Pogba, but they are unwilling to offer the midfielder a contract worth more than his Manchester United deal.

The Spanish giants hold a long-standing interest in Pogba, who has admitted more than once that it is a "dream" of his to put on the famous white strip.

Los Blancos were said to be confident of getting a transfer over the line this summer but, according to ESPN, the 26-year-old will have to take a pay cut if he is to join Madrid.

The report indicates that the La Liga outfit are unwilling to match the Frenchman's current £290,000-a-week wages at Old Trafford, despite his commercial value.

Madrid are supposedly wary of their huge wage bill and are reluctant to put themselves under further financial strain.

Chelsea forward Eden Hazard and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen are also rumoured to be targets for Zinedine Zidane's side.
