Real Madrid's Raphael Varane 'wants Premier League move'

Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane reportedly wants to test himself in the Premier League amid supposed interest from Manchester United and Liverpool.

Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane is reportedly keen to try his hand in the Premier League amid speculation surrounding his Blancos future.

The World Cup-winning Frenchman has entered the final 18 months of his deal with the La Liga champions, who are supposedly still confident of convincing him to sign a new deal.

However, should Varane choose not to put pen fresh terms, Madrid would be expected to list him for transfer this summer rather than risk seeing him leave for nothing at the end of next season.

Amid reported interest from Manchester United and Liverpool, AS claims that Varane wants to test himself in England's top flight after nearly a decade at the Bernabeu.

The 27-year-old allegedly wanted to leave in 2019 before the return of Zinedine Zidane in the dugout made him change his mind, and the report claims that Madrid would not even consider letting him walk away for free in 2022, so a summer transfer could be on the cards.

Los Blancos are understood to be after a fee in excess of £60m for Varane, despite his uncertain contract situation, and the former Lens man has remained a key player for Real Madrid this term with two goals in 33 appearances across all competitions.
