Manchester United full-back Brandon Williams is reportedly no longer a loan target for Newcastle United.

Newcastle United have reportedly accepted defeat in their pursuit of Manchester United full-back Brandon Williams.

The Magpies are one of several clubs to have been linked with the 20-year-old, along with the likes of Southampton and Bayer Leverkusen.

However, The Northern Echo reports that Newcastle have ended their interest as they do not believe Man United are still willing to loan out the youngster this month.

Williams started at right-back in Saturday's FA Cup win over Watford and boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer suggested after the match that the left-sided player could feature there more regularly.

It has been a frustrating January transfer window for Newcastle thus far, having also been forced to end their interest in Chelsea centre-back Fikayo Tomori.
