Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a summer move for Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams.

The 24-year-old made the move to Elland Road from RB Leipzig last summer, and he has impressed for the Whites this season, featuring on 26 occasions in all competitions.

Adams has been out since the middle of March with a hamstring injury, though, and Leeds have struggled in his absence, with Sam Allardyce's side currently 19th in the table, two points behind 17th-placed Everton.

The United States international has another four years left to run on his contract, but the Whites are unlikely to be able to keep hold of him if they are relegated to the Championship.

According to Football Insider, a number of clubs in the Premier League and in the leading European leagues are keeping a close eye on Adams's situation.

The report claims that Man United are interested in the American, who could potentially be available for a fee in the region of £35m during this summer's transfer window.

The Red Devils are allegedly attracted by Adams's 'dynamism and energy', with the club looking to sign at least one new central midfielder ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.

Man United boosted their midfield department last summer by bringing in Christian Eriksen and Casemiro, but Scott McTominay and Fred could potentially leave at the end of the season.

West Ham United's Declan Rice continues to be linked with a move to Old Trafford, but the England international could cost in the region of £100m, and the Red Devils are set to spend big money on a new centre-forward during the upcoming market.

Man United secured a position in the 2023-24 Champions League by beating Chelsea 4-1 in the Premier League on Thursday night.

After the match, Ten Hag said that the club "need better players" if they are to challenge for the Premier League title next season due to the level that has been set by Manchester City.

Adams started his professional career with New York Red Bulls, representing the MLS outfit on 74 occasions in all competitions, scoring three goals and registering 10 assists in the process.

The midfielder then made the move to Leipzig in 2019, scoring twice and providing four assists in 103 appearances for the German side before arriving in the Premier League.

Adams has also been capped on 36 occasions by the United States, and he represented his country on four occasions at the 2022 World Cup, helping the Stars and Stripes reach the round of 16. body check tags ::
