Diogo Dalot has reportedly been informed that he will not be granted a move to AC Milan this summer.

The 22-year-old featured heavily on loan with Milan last season and is supposedly eager to join the Serie A runners-up permanently.

However, the Manchester Evening News claims that Dalot has been instructed to return to Old Trafford for pre-season training next month as he is part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's plans.

Former Portugal Under-21s international Dalot, who can play on both flanks, is under contract with United until 2023 and will provide competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw in the full-back positions.

United are also rumoured to be interested in signing Kieran Trippier, but Atletico Madrid are thought to want a fee in the region of €50m (£42.9m).
