Manchester United could reportedly look to sell Scott McTominay and Dean Henderson during this summer's transfer window to raise the funds required to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea.

The Red Devils are said to be keen to bring Mount to Old Trafford, with Erik ten Hag's side thought to be willing to pay £55m for the England international, who is also wanted by Arsenal and Liverpool.

Man United are also in the market for a big-money centre-forward, meaning that they will need to make some first-team sales this summer in order to balance the books.

According to The Athletic, the 20-time English champions will attempt to sell both McTominay and Henderson in the upcoming market to raise transfer funds.

The report claims that Newcastle United remain interested in McTominay, with the Magpies thought to have expressed a desire to sign the Scotland international in January.

The central midfielder has featured on 36 occasions for Man United this season, scoring three goals and registering one assist in the process.

However, the 26-year-old is no longer a guaranteed starter for the Red Devils, with Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes proving to be the club's first-choice midfield.

McTominay has another two years left to run on his contract, with the option of a further 12 months, but he could leave this summer in search of more regular action.

Henderson, meanwhile, is believed to be wanted by Nottingham Forest on a permanent basis this summer, having spent the 2022-23 campaign on loan with Steve Cooper's side.

The 26-year-old saw his season end in January due to injury, but he has made 20 appearances for Forest this season, and the club have survived relegation from the Premier League, which puts them in contention to sign him on a long-term basis.

There is uncertainty when it comes to the goalkeeping ranks at Old Trafford, as David de Gea and Tom Heaton are both out of contract next month, while Jack Butland is only on loan from Crystal Palace.

However, De Gea is widely expected to sign a new deal, while Butland is allegedly wanted on a permanent basis this summer, with the experienced stopper set to become a free agent next month.

Henderson is reportedly not prepared to play back-up to De Gea at Man United next season, which will likely lead to him leaving the 20-time English champions on a permanent basis. body check tags ::
