Manchester United are reportedly prepared to offer Edinson Cavani a new £250k-a-week deal to remain at Old Trafford for another season.

Manchester United are reportedly ready to bump up Edinson Cavani's wages should he agree to a new deal at Old Trafford.

The former Paris Saint-Germain attacker has made a positive impression since arriving at the club last summer, chipping in with 14 goals and five assists across all tournaments this season.

However, Cavani's future remains shrouded in uncertainty, as his existing deal will expire at the end of next month and he has been strongly linked with a move back to his native South America.

Cavani can stay on for another year if both he and United agree to trigger the one-year extension in his deal, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still hopeful that a positive solution can be reached.

According to The Sun, Cavani currently pockets a £200k-a-week salary at Old Trafford, but the club are willing to increase that to £250k should he stay on for the 2021-22 season.

Boca Juniors were thought to be the frontrunners to sign the 34-year-old should he leave United, but a recent report claimed that the Argentinian giants have given up their pursuit of the veteran forward. body check tags ::
