Manchester United are reportedly looking to sell eight first-team players this summer including captain Harry Maguire.

The 30-year-old defender has fallen down the pecking order since the arrival of Erik ten Hag and he started just eight games in the Premier League during the 2022-23 campaign.

Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw were all preferred at centre-back ahead of Maguire, who recently expressed his desire to play more regularly.

However, Maguire's time at Old Trafford appears to be coming to an end, with one report claiming that the England international could receive a £10m pay-off from the Red Devils to leave the club this summer.

According to The Mirror, Maguire is one of eight players Man United are looking to offload as Ten Hag aims to reshape his first-team squad ahead of the 2023-24 season.

The report adds that the Red Devils will also listen to offers for midfield duo Fred and Scott McTominay who have failed to nail down regular starting places under Ten Hag.

Fred, who started just 12 Premier League games in 2022-23, recently hinted that he may seek pastures new this summer, with Fulham allegedly interested in his services.

McTominay, meanwhile, has been linked with a summer departure for some time amid interest from the likes of Newcastle United and West Ham United.

The sale of both midfielders could help generate funds for United in their pursuit of a new central midfielder, with the likes of West Ham's Declan Rice and Chelsea's Mason Mount said to be strongly on their radar.

Elsewhere, forward Anthony Martial is another player who the Red Devils will look to move on this summer with the Frenchman having endured a frustrating injury-hit 2022-23 season, scoring just nine goals in 18 starts and 13 substitute outings in all competitions.

The 27-year-old, who has failed to reach the heights expected following his big-money move from Monaco in 2015, would likely struggle for regular game time if United managed to lure one of their top attacking targets such as Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane to Old Trafford.

Backup goalkeeper Dean Henderson has also been tipped to leave Man United this summer following a loan spell at Nottingham Forest, who are allegedly keen to recruit the 26-year-old on a permanent deal.

Defensive trio Alex Telles, Eric Bailly and Brandon Williams are three more players deemed surplus to requirements, with the former two set for a swift exit following loan spells at Sevilla and Marseille respectively.

Williams, meanwhile, endured a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury earlier this season, but the 22-year-old full-back was never considered a first-team candidate by Ten Hag when he returned to full fitness, and he made just one five-minute substitute outing in the entire campaign.

Man United have already confirmed that Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe will be leaving the club when their contracts expire at the end of this month, while Jack Butland has ended his loan spell from Crystal Palace and has joined Rangers on a permanent deal. body check tags ::
