Manchester United are reportedly ready to fork out a large chunk of David de Gea's remaining £36.4m wages in order to offload him in the summer transfer window.

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to cough up a mammoth chunk of David de Gea's wages as they look to offload the Spanish shot-stopper this summer.

De Gea's number one jersey is under threat from the up-and-coming Dean Henderson, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has affirmed that he will continue to chop and change his goalkeepers for the remainder of the campaign.

The former Atletico Madrid man has largely kept Henderson out of the team in the Premier League this term, but with the latter's development understood to be a priority for United chiefs, De Gea could supposedly be moved on in the summer.

However, De Gea still has two years left on his United contract, and The Mirror claims that the Red Devils will have to fork out a hefty chunk of his remaining £350k-a-week wages to get him off the books this summer.

The report adds that three other shot-stoppers in Sergio Romero, Lee Grant and Joel Pereira could follow De Gea out of the exit door this summer, as the powers-that-be at United are desperate to trim their wage bill in between the sticks.

De Gea, who is thought to be valued at £50m by United, has been linked with a return to Atletico and a move across the channel to Paris Saint-Germain if his time at Old Trafford does come to an end this summer. body check tags ::
