Manchester United ready to join race for Djed Spence?

Manchester United are reportedly ready to join the race to sign Middlesbrough defender Djed Spence during the summer transfer window.

Manchester United have reportedly identified Middlesbrough defender Djed Spence as a potential summer transfer target.

The right-back has spent much of the campaign on loan at Nottingham Forest, making a positive impression during his 33 appearances in all competitions.

With 15 months now remaining on his contract at Boro and little interest in penning fresh terms, the 21-year-old has effectively been playing in the shop window.

According to The Mirror, United are the latest club to take an interest in the England Under-21 international as they weigh up their options in that area of the pitch.

At a time when Diogo Dalot's finds himself in the same contractual situation as Spence, the Premier League giants could look to take advantage of Spence being available for less than £15m.

Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich are among the other clubs who are said to be monitoring the situation as Spence prepares to make the step up ahead of 2022-23. body check tags ::
