Manchester United could move for a new central defender during this summer's transfer window, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to explore the possibility of signing a new central defender when this summer's transfer window opens for business.

The Red Devils are currently well-stocked at the back, but a recent report claimed that Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo could all be sold ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

According to ESPN, United are open to signing a new centre-back this summer to provide competition for Victor Lindelof, who is yet to fully convince at Old Trafford.

The report claims that Real Valladolid's Mohammed Salisu has been identified as a potential target.

However, the 20-time English champions have also previously been linked with Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly and Swansea City's Joe Rodon ahead of this summer's transfer window.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are currently fifth in the Premier League table, just three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, although there is no guarantee that the season will be allowed to safely resume.
