Manchester United 'likely to agree extensions for loan trio'

Manchester United are reportedly expected to allow Dean Henderson, Alexis Sanchez and Chris Smalling to remain with their respective loan clubs for the rest of the season.

Manchester United are reportedly expected to allow Dean Henderson, Alexis Sanchez and Chris Smalling to remain with their respective loan clubs until at least the end of the 2019-20 campaign.

Henderson has excelled on loan at Sheffield United this season, keeping 10 clean sheets in 27 Premier League outings, while Smalling has also impressed for Roma.

Sanchez has found it difficult to contribute for Inter Milan although injuries have restricted the 31-year-old to just nine Serie A appearances.

The loan deals for all three players are due to expire at the end of June but with the Premier League and Serie A set to resume in the coming weeks, Sky Sports News reporter James Cooper has said that the trio are unlikely to return to Old Trafford until at least the end of the campaign.

"No official decision has been made as yet but it seems more than likely that Dean Henderson, Alexis Sanchez and Chris Smalling will all get to stay put at Sheffield United, Inter Milan and AS Roma respectively. With a fully fit squad to call upon, [Ole Gunnar] Solskjaer has no real reason to bring them back," said Cooper.

United are due to return to Premier League action away to Tottenham Hotspur between June 19 and June 21.
