Manchester United defender Luke Shaw is reportedly in line for a new deal at the club following his impressive season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The former Southampton man was expected to struggle for game time after the arrival of Alex Telles from Porto, but he has established himself as the Red Devils' first-choice left-back after a string of solid performances.

Shaw has chalked up one goal and five assists from 25 Premier League appearances this term, and United are supposedly ready to reward him for his performances with a bumper new contract.

According to The Mirror, United are preparing to sit down with the 25-year-old and discuss fresh terms in the coming weeks, as Solskjaer views him as an integral cog in his defensive system.

Shaw's existing deal at Old Trafford is not due to expire until the end of the 2022-23 season, but the defender can reportedly expect to be pocketing a salary close to that of their highest earners with a new contract.

Shaw has been blighted by injuries during his time with Man United, chalking up 174 appearances for the club since arriving in the summer of 2014. body check tags ::
