Leicester City reportedly rebuff Manchester United's world-record £80m bid for their wantaway centre-back Harry Maguire, demanding that the Red Devils pay £90m.

Leicester City have rejected Manchester United's £80m bid for Harry Maguire, according to a report.

The Red Devils' offer would beat the transfer record for a defender set by Liverpool's move for Virgil van Dijk, but the Foxes are holding out for £90m.

According to The Independent, Leicester believe that United could be willing to make one last improved offer for the 26-year-old.

The England international has not gone on strike, but is understood to be eager to move to Old Trafford this summer.

Maguire made 32 appearances for Leicester last season, as they came ninth in the Premier League.

Brendan Rodgers has been busy bolstering his side for the new season with the acquisitions of Youri Tielemans, Ayoze Perez and James Justin, but the Northern Irishman may have to deal with losing his star defender before the August 8 transfer deadline.
