Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has said that he is "very happy" to be at Camp Nou amid the recent speculation surrounding his future.

The 24-year-old has again been an important player for his Catalan club during the 2021-22 campaign, making 29 appearances in all competitions, contributing two goals and two assists in the process.

De Jong was strongly linked with a move away from Barcelona in January, though, with Xavi's side said to be prepared to sell him for the right offer.

A recent report claimed that the Netherlands international is determined to remain at Camp Nou this summer, and he has now insisted that he is "very happy" at the club.

"I'm very happy to be at Barcelona. I've wanted to be here since I was little so it's been a dream come true. Of course I would have liked to have won more trophies than I have in my first two years," De Jong told The Guardian. "I expected more in that sense, let's put it like that. But apart from that I'm very happy here and I hope to be here for many more years."

Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Juventus, Manchester United and Liverpool are among the clubs to be credited with an interest in the former Ajax midfielder. body check tags ::
