Rio Ferdinand urges Paul Pogba to speak on Manchester United future

Club legend Rio Ferdinand says that Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba should release a statement on his future.

Club legend Rio Ferdinand wants Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba to provide some clarity on his future.

Ever since revealing that he wanted to take on a new challenge in June, the World Cup winner has been frequently linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

While United have previously insisted that the Frenchman was not for sale, it has been widely reported that the Premier League giants are now open to offers.

Given the current uncertainty, former centre-back Ferdinand, a friend of the 27-year-old, wants the club record signing to speak on his plans for next season.

Speaking to The Beautiful Game Podcast, Ferdinand said: "I'm honest about Paul and I love Paul, because he's a great kid. I've known him since he was a young boy and I still chat to him now.

"But the only problem I have with Paul is he should chat, instead of his agent [Mino Raiola] chatting. If he did that there would be more clarity on the whole situation.

"I spoke to him about all that type of stuff but Paul's his own man and he's going to deal with it his own way, I respect that, that's fine. So that's the only thing I'd say."

Pogba, who has just over a year left on his contract, is attracting attention from ex-club Juventus.
