Bayern Munich could reportedly sell talisman Robert Lewandowski to help fund a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland next summer.

Bayern Munich are reportedly prepared to sell talisman Robert Lewandowski to help fund a move for Borussia Dortmund's Erling Braut Haaland next summer.

Lewandowski, who has just over 18 months remaining on his current contract at the Allianz Arena, is enjoying another stellar campaign in front of goal, netting 29 times in just 24 appearances across all competitions.

Despite previous reports suggesting that Lewandowski would be open to a move to the Premier League, Bild claim that the 33-year-old is hoping to sign a new contract to stay with the perennial Bundesliga champions.

However, the report adds that Bayern are hesitant to offer Lewandowski a new deal and if they fail to meet the player's demands then they will look to cash in on the striker next summer and target Haaland as his replacement.

Bayern would be prepared to sell the Poland international for €60m (£51m) in 2022, and believe this would be a fair price for one of the world's best strikers in the latter stage of his career.

Lewandowski is understood to have told his agent Pini Zahavi that Spanish giants Real Madrid would be his preferred destination should he leave the Allianz Arena.

Bayern would likely face stern competition from the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid should they target Haaland, who will see his £64m release clause become active next summer. body check tags ::
