Barcelona are reportedly in the hunt to sign Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who will be leaving AC Milan on a free transfer at the end of June.

The 22-year-old has rejected the chance to sign a new contract at San Siro, and a number of clubs, including Juventus, Chelsea and Manchester United, are believed to be competing for his signature.

However, according to Mundo Deportivo, Donnarumma is also a 'real option' for the Catalan giants, who are believed to be prioritising low-cost signings this summer.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano recently said that there was no truth to the rumours that Marc-Andre ter Stegen could leave Camp Nou in the upcoming market.

However, Barca are believed to view Donnarumma as the perfect player to challenge Ter Stegen for the gloves, as the Germany international's ongoing knee problems are a concern.

The Italian enjoyed an impressive 2020-21 campaign for Milan, keeping 15 clean sheets in 48 appearances. body check tags ::
