Ajax consider move for Manchester United defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson?

Ajax are reportedly considering whether to launch a loan bid for Manchester United defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson.

Manchester United defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Ajax.

After impressing under Louis van Gaal, the left-back had been tipped for big things at Old Trafford but a disappointing loan spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers has left him down the pecking order.

However, according to the Daily Mail, he could be handed a lifeline by Ajax, who may move for the 20-year-old after selling Jairo Riedewald to Crystal Palace.

Borthwick-Jackson made just seven outings for Wolves in all competitions, but he could gain regular football with a team who are not afraid to include younger talent in the Eredivisie.

It remains to be seen whether Jose Mourinho still considers the England Under-20 international as one for the future, but his only chance to stake a claim for a spot for the 2018-19 campaign may be to represent a top European club rather than returning to the second tier.

Borthwick-Jackson has already featured on 14 occasions for United, with 10 of his appearances coming in the Premier League.
