How Manchester United could line up against Everton

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Manchester United could line up for Saturday's Premier League clash with Everton.

Manchester United will have to work around the absence of Luke Shaw for Saturday's Premier League early kickoff with Everton at Old Trafford.

The England international came off with an apparent hamstring problem in Wednesday's triumph over Brentford, and while Erik ten Hag refused to speculate on the severity of his issue after the game, he will take his place on the sidelines for this one.

With bad news comes good news, though, as Christian Eriksen makes a matchday squad for the first time since January, but Alejandro Garnacho and Tom Heaton's own ankle injuries are yet to heal.

Former Toffees loanee Donny van de Beek (knee) also watches on from the sidelines, while Casemiro must serve the fourth and final game of his domestic suspension.

With Shaw set to be unavailable, Tyrell Malacia will expect to be given the nod on the left, while the tight turnaround means that Aaron Wan-Bissaka can also feel hopeful of displacing Diogo Dalot on the opposite side of the backline.

None of David de Gea, Lisandro Martinez or Raphael Varane should drop out - the same can be said for Marcel Sabitzer - but the fresh legs of Fred may now be preferred over Scott McTominay, as Eriksen is carefully reintroduced from the bench.

Antony and Bruno Fernandes are seemingly shoo-ins up top, while Marcus Rashford - fresh from scoring his 15th Premier League goal of the season - should be up to his old tricks once again.

Jadon Sancho may be considered for the axe, though, as the out-of-sorts Wout Weghorst and Anthony Martial battle to spearhead the charge. With the latter now back to full fitness and boasting seven goals and four assists from 15 appearances against Everton, there is every chance that he could be given the nod.
