How Liverpool could line up against Manchester United

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up for Sunday's Premier League visit to face fierce rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Jurgen Klopp must decide whether to once again play his four main attackers from the start when his Liverpool side take on bitter rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Reds created a plethora of chances with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota all on the pitch against Newcastle United, only to spurn all but one of those and be punished with a late equaliser.

With the success of Liverpool's season now resting solely on a top-four finish, Klopp has little to lose by going for it once again, although certain members of Liverpool's attack have generally not had much joy in this fixture in the past.

Firmino has only scored one goal in 14 previous meetings with Man United, while Mane has just one goal in 11 meetings.

Even Salah has struggled against Man United in the past, although he now has three goals in his last three games against the Red Devils, including a brace at Old Trafford already this season during January's FA Cup meeting.

Should the Golden Boot-chasing winger net again then he would become only the second Liverpool player to ever score in two separate away games against Man United in a single season, after Harry Chambers 100 years ago.

Klopp has no new injury concerns to worry about, but is still contending with a lengthy list of absentees which is once again expected to include Nat Phillips.

Fabinho will once again fill in at centre-back to cover for Phillips, who has joined fellow centre-backs Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip on the treatment table with a hamstring issue in recent weeks.

The champions, who could be officially dethroned this weekend if Manchester City beat Crystal Palace and then they beat Man United, are also without captain Jordan Henderson and Divock Origi for this match.

Liverpool possible starting lineup:
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho, Kabak, Robertson; Thiago, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane; Jota
