Paul Pogba 'clashes with Jesse Lingard at start of pre-season tour'

Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard appeared to exchange words before Victor Lindelof stepped in as Manchester United's pre-season tour got off to a shaky start on Monday.

Victor Lindelof appeared to step in to break up a heated exchange between Manchester United teammates Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard ahead of a pre-season training session.

United only landed in Perth on Monday for the start of their 2019-20 preparations, which also includes a trip to the Far East.

However, it was not all smiles before the Red Devils' first training session in Australia as Pogba seemed upset at something Lingard said.

A clip posted on United's official Twitter account showed Pogba take a step towards Lingard, but Lindelof quickly stepped in to defuse the situation.

Pogba has been tipped to join Real Madrid this summer, with his agent Mino Raiola reiterating on Friday that the Frenchman is keen to leave Old Trafford.
