Paul Pogba 'inspired Manchester United comeback'

A report claims that Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba inspired his side to their 3-2 win over Newcastle United by offering to play in central defence.

Paul Pogba reportedly helped to save manager Jose Mourinho's job by inspiring Manchester United to their comeback win over Newcastle United.

The Red Devils recovered from two goals down to beat Newcastle 3-2 at Old Trafford on Saturday evening, potentially buying under-fire boss Mourinho more time in the process.

A number of players voiced their opinions at half time in an attempt to clear the air, and The Sun reports that Pogba was among those to step forward.

Pogba is said to have suggested playing in a deeper position to free up space for Marouane Fellaini to come on, which Mourinho listened to.

The French midfielder dictated play from his deeper position and was a key part in United's eventual victory, with the same report suggesting that players and staff were united as one when returning to the dressing room at full time.
