Manchester United will reportedly loan Erling Braut Haaland back to Red Bull Salzburg for the rest of the season if the two clubs strike a deal for the striker in January.

The 19-year-old has emerged as one of the hottest properties in Europe after topping the goalscoring charts in the Champions League after four games, scoring seven goals including a hat-trick on his debut in the competition.

Reports have claimed that United are leading the race for Haaland after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer instructed the club to make him a priority.

According to the Daily Mail, United would allow the Norwegian to finish the 2019-20 season with Salzburg if they manage to sign him in January.

It has been suggested by several sources that Haaland will be available for around £85m.

Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus and Bayern Munich have all been credited with showing an interest in the striker, who has 19 goals at a domestic level for Salzburg this term.
