Manchester United target Declan Rice defends Paul Pogba

Manchester United target Declan Rice defends Paul Pogba amid repeated criticism over the midfielder's supposed poor attitude.

Manchester United target Declan Rice has been quick to defend Paul Pogba following repeated criticism of the France international.

Pogba has recently been involved in a war of words with Sky Sports News pundit Graeme Souness, who has not held back in calling out the 27-year-old for a perceived lack of work ethic and desire to play for United.

However, Rice, who is rumoured to be a target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, cannot fathom why Pogba is often on the receiving end of criticism.

The West Ham United midfielder said on Instagram: "Why do people hate on Pogba? Doesn't make any sense.

"The guy is ridiculous, one of the best in the world. You think he wants to be injured? Some things in football you can't prevent."

Pogba has not turned out for United since December due to an ankle problem, chalking up two assists from seven Premier League appearances this season. body check tags ::
