Manchester United produced a Premier League first on Saturday afternoon, with the team coming from behind to record a 2-1 victory over Brentford at Old Trafford.

Mathias Jensen sent Brentford ahead in the 26th minute of the contest, and there were again fingers pointed at Red Devils goalkeeper Andre Onana, who allowed the midfielder's tame effort to find the back of the net.

However, Scott McTominay, who had only been introduced in the 87th minute, scored twice in second-half stoppage time to secure a dramatic three points for Erik ten Hag's side.

Man United, for the first time in their Premier League history, have now trailed entering the 90th minute of a match but gone on to collect all three points.

The 20-time English champions had been staring at a third successive home defeat in all competitions, which would have piled the pressure on head coach Ten Hag.

McTominay's late brace ensured that the Red Devils would win their fourth league game of the season, and the club's manager was full of praise for the Scotland international after the contest.

"You know with Scott you get drive and energy on the pitch. He can make a goal, he can arrive and his willingness is very strong," Ten Hag told MUTV.

"His feeling for this club is very strong, he plays with all his heart. He will always defend the colours of this club.

"I think the fans see that everyone is giving his best. But you have to do it always and we can't switch off in moments in the game. So we have to be more consistent in the attitude and that approach. And when we get that, I'm sure this team will get success."

Meanwhile, Man United captain Bruno Fernandes said to MUTV: "Relief, happiness and we all agree that we deserved this result because during the 90 minutes, we controlled the game really well and we could have scored in the first half.

"We didn't and we know when we don't score and concede, it's always going to be tough, but today we got three points and two goals from Scott at the last minute. It was a really good result for us because we needed points today.

"That's what the manager always says about the subs. I think last year we were the team with the most goals coming from the bench and this has to be the mood for everyone coming off the bench."

Man United currently sit ninth in the Premier League table, four points behind fourth-placed Liverpool, with the campaign now being halted due to the international break. body check tags ::
