Darren Fletcher is allegedly the favourite to lead the team on an interim basis while the search for a permanent manager is accelerated, with Zinedine Zidane thought to be in the driving seat.
However, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Blanc has also emerged as an option to lead Man United once Solskjaer's departure has been confirmed.
The 56-year-old, who represented the 20-time English champions as a player between 2001 and 2003, managed Bordeaux, France and Paris Saint-Germain between 2007 and 2016.
