Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.

Manchester United will aim to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they travel to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday afternoon.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side opened the new season with a 5-1 thrashing of Leeds United before being held to a 1-1 draw by Southampton, with Mason Greenwood cancelling out an own goal by Fred at St Mary's.

The Red Devils did introduce Jadon Sancho off the bench in that game, while Raphael Varane was an unused substitute, but Solskjaer is still bedevilled with some injury concerns ahead of gameweek three.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Man United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Scott McTominay

Status: Out
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: Unknown

On Thursday, it was revealed that Scott McTominay underwent surgery to treat a groin issue, and the Scotland international is now set for a spell on the sidelines.

Marcus Rashford

Status: Out
Type of injury: Shoulder
Possible return date: Unknown

Marcus Rashford has gone under the knife to address a shoulder problem which plagued him for a good chunk of the 2020-21 season, and he is facing at least another month on the sidelines.

Edinson Cavani

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Fitness
Possible return date: August 29 (vs. Wolves)

Edinson Cavani returned to Manchester United training before the trip to Southampton but was not deemed ready to face the Saints. However, the Uruguayan striker should be in contention to feature this weekend.

Alex Telles

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: September 11 (vs. Newcastle)

Alex Telles injured his ankle during pre-season training, and Solskjaer expects the left-back to miss the whole of August, effectively ruling him out of this contest.

Dean Henderson

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Coronavirus
Possible return date: August 29 (vs. Wolves)

Dean Henderson is feeling "much better" after recovering from a bout of coronavirus, according to Solskjaer, and the shot-stopper could be ready to make his comeback against Wolves after being put through his paces in training.

Phil Jones

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: August 29 (vs. Wolves)

Phil Jones is finally nearing a return to action after his serious knee problem and recently featured in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Burnley. The centre-back is thought to be in Solskjaer's plans this term but may not be passed fit for competitive action just yet.

Eric Bailly

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Fitness
Possible return date: August 29 (vs. Wolves)

Eric Bailly is back in training with United after representing Ivory Coast at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, but it remains to be seen if he will be deemed match fit for the trip to Molineux.
