Marcus Rashford is in line to return to the Manchester United squad for Saturday afternoon's Premier League clash with Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

The England international is yet to turn out for the Red Devils this season, having undergone a shoulder operation following the completion of the European Championship.

Rashford has stepped up his recovery over the international break, though, and is expected to return to the squad for his side's next game against Leicester.

The 23-year-old will be looking to build on an impressive 2020-21 campaign, which saw him score 21 goals and register 15 assists in 57 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the attacker has fared against the Foxes in the past.

Rashford has faced Leicester on 12 previous occasions in all competitions and boasts an impressive record against them, posting eight wins, three draws and just one defeat.

The Englishman has found the back of the net on five occasions against the Foxes, all of which have come in the Premier League, while he has won seven of his 11 top-flight meetings against the former English champions.

Rashford was on the scoresheet against Leicester at the King Power Stadium last season, making the breakthrough in the 23rd minute of the contest, although the match ultimately finished 2-2.

The attacker's debut against the Foxes came during the 2015-16 Premier League season, while he scored his first goal against them in a 4-1 victory at Old Trafford during the 2016-17 campaign.

Rashford has actually found the back of the net in each of the last five seasons against Leicester and two of those strikes have come at the King Power Stadium, showing that he has previous at that particular ground.

Alongside Chelsea and Liverpool, Leicester are Rashford's favourite opponents when it comes to finding the back of the net, having struck five times against all three teams.

The attacker is yet to register an assist against Brendan Rodgers's side but two of his last three goals against the FA Cup holders arrived when he started through the middle.

Rashford is unlikely to be in the starting XI this weekend after such a long period on the sidelines, but his record against the Foxes should force Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's hand when it comes to selecting him in the squad, where a contribution off the bench is more than possible. body check tags ::
