Marcus Rashford has returned to Manchester United training ahead of Wednesday's Champions League clash with Danish giants Copenhagen.

The England international was not involved in Saturday's Premier League clash with Fulham due to a knock to the leg that he suffered towards the end of last week.

Rashford made the trip down to London alongside his teammates but failed a fitness test on the morning before the match at Craven Cottage.

There had been suggestions that the academy product was not involved due to his decision to go out and celebrate his birthday at a nightclub after the Manchester derby on October 29.

However, Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag insisted that was not the case when he spoke ahead of the Fulham game, revealing that Rashford would have started had he been available.

Rashford was able to train alongside his teammates on Tuesday morning, suggesting that he will be back in the squad for the European contest with Copenhagen.

The 26-year-old has only scored once during a disappointing season to date, but his return is a huge positive for the 20-time English champions.

Man United have only picked up three points from their three group-stage fixtures this season, which has left them down in third position in Group A, one point behind second-placed Galatasaray.

Ten Hag's side beat Copenhagen 1-0 in the reverse match at Old Trafford last month and will be looking to make it back-to-back successes over the Danish giants in the section.

Victor Lindelof has also returned to training, with the Sweden international recovering from the illness that forced him to miss out against Fulham last time out.

Casemiro is out until the end of the year due to a hamstring issue, though, so he did not train, while Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw and Amad Diallo are also absent.

Kobbie Mainoo was also surprisingly not involved in training, and it remains to be seen if the teenage midfielder is named in the squad for the trip to Denmark.

Man United managed to bounce back from successive 3-0 home losses to Manchester City and Newcastle United in the Premier League and EFL Cup respectively by beating Fulham on Saturday, with Bruno Fernandes netting the only goal of the contest in the final exchanges. body check tags ::
