Raheem Sterling reportedly wants assurances over his Manchester City future before signing a new contract at the Etihad Stadium.

Despite being a key player during the Pep Guardiola era, Sterling has been restricted to four starts and six substitute outings in all competitions this season.

The lack of game time for the 26-year-old has led to speculation regarding his future with his current contract due to expire in 2023.

According to The Sun, Sterling is unlikely to entertain a new deal unless he receives guarantees over his role at the club.

Barcelona are said to be monitoring the situation, while the attacker will not be short of options in the Premier League if he requests a transfer.

Sterling has just one goal to his name this season, that effort coming against Norwich City on August 21 after being introduced as a second-half substitute. body check tags ::
