Manchester City want to bring Athletico Paranaense defender Abner to the club this summer, according to a report.

Manchester City are reportedly keen to bring Athletico Paranaense defender Abner Vinicius to the club during this summer's transfer window.

The Citizens are expected to add a new left-back to their squad ahead of next season, with head coach Pep Guardiola short of options in that area of the field.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Man City are 'on the trail' of Abner and are keen to bring him to Manchester at the end of the 2021-22 campaign.

The report claims that the Brazilian has a £21m release clause in his current deal, which Man City are prepared to meet, with their scouts being impressed with his performances in recent months.

Abner - capped at Under-23 level by his country - has scored three times and contributed 10 assists in 89 appearances for Athletico in all competitions.

The full-back, who still has two-and-a-half years left to run on his current deal, has won the Campeonato Paranaense and Copa Sudamericana over the last couple of years. body check tags ::
