Champions Manchester City are likely to remain without their midfield maestro Kevin De Bruyne when they travel to the south coast to face Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Tuesday.

The Belgium international has a minor muscle injury and is unlikely to be risked prior to the Champions League final against Chelsea towards the end of May.

Likewise, Sergio Aguero was not a part of the squad which travelled to face Newcastle United on Friday night, although it remains unclear whether that was due to an injury or his failed attempt at converting a Panenka penalty in the recent league defeat to Chelsea.

The 32-year-old will depart the club in the summer after spending an illustrious decade with the Citizens, so providing any potential injury Aguero may have is not serious, he should receive a final swansong against Everton on Sunday.

Otherwise, Pep Guardiola looks to have a clean bill of health at his disposal, with several changes likely to be made in order to avoid any burnout, while also ensuring his key players are not rusty ahead of the final.

Scott Carson was handed a surprise first ever start for the club ahead of his playing contract expiring in the summer, but Ederson is likely to return between the sticks against Brighton, unless Guardiola opts to hand Zack Steffen a rare opportunity in a league match.

Ferran Torres scored a hat-trick in the 4-3 win against Newcastle and should keep his place after receiving limited minutes during his first season in England, but the likes of Ruben Dias, John Stones, Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez could all come back into the side.

Man City possible starting lineup: Ederson; Cancelo, Stones, Dias, Mendy; Silva, Fernandinho, Foden; Mahrez, Jesus, Torres
