Pep Guardiola to give Claudio Bravo nod to start against Arsenal

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola intends to stick with Claudio Bravo for Sunday's EFL Cup final clash with Arsenal, despite calls for Ederson to start at Wembley.

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Claudio Bravo will remain in goal for Manchester City's showdown with Arsenal in the final of the EFL Cup.

The Chile international has been used almost exclusively in domestic cup competitions this term, featuring eight times compared to just once in the Premier League.

Bravo's shot-stopping ability was again questioned following the defeat to Wigan Athletic on Monday evening, with Will Grigg finding a way through from the Latics' only attempt on target, but Guardiola has no plans to reinstate Ederson for the huge clash at Wembley.

"Without Claudio Bravo we would not be here, he deserves to play the final, he will play the final," the Catalan said at his pre-match press conference. "The locker room is sometimes more important than finals."

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger revealed earlier this week that he also plans on using his back-up keeper, meaning a chance for David Ospina to shine.
