Real Madrid team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Manchester City

Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Friday's Champions League fixture with Manchester City.

Real Madrid take on Manchester City on Friday evening looking to overturn a first-leg deficit in the Champions League last-16 tie between the two sides.

Back in February, a late flurry from City earned the Premier League giants a 2-1 victory at the Bernabeu, boosting their chances of a first ever triumph in this competition.

However, with both clubs well rested after the conclusion of their respective domestic campaigns, it has provided players with an opportunity to recuperate ahead of the encounter at the Etihad Stadium.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the injury and suspension news regarding Zinedine Zidane's squad.

Mariano Diaz

Status: Out
Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: Unknown

Last week, it was revealed that Mariano Diaz had tested positive for coronavirus. While it has been suggested that the forward is showing no symptoms, he will not feature in the squad later this week.

REAL MADRID'S SUSPENSION LIST

Sergio Ramos

Length of ban: One match

After his dismissal in the first leg, Sergio Ramos is sidelined for the fixture on Friday evening. However, should Real overturn the narrow deficit, the veteran would be available for the quarter-finals.
