Report: Liverpool make Barcelona's Pedri a priority signing

Barcelona midfielder Pedri, who has a £70m release clause in his contract, is rumoured to be a priority summer transfer target for Liverpool.

Liverpool have made Barcelona midfielder Pedri their number one target for the summer transfer window, according to a report.

The 18-year-old starred in his first full campaign at Camp Nou last time out, making an incredible 51 appearances in all competitions for Barca.

Pedri's stock will only rise further as he is expected to be a regular for Spain at this summer's delayed Euro 2020 tournament.

Barca are believed to have made the 18-year-old one of just four players deemed 'untouchable' in a period of uncertainty at the club.

However, Pedri has a £70m release clause in his contract, meaning that any decision is effectively out of Barca's hands should a bid be tabled.

Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo suggests that Liverpool are weighing up a move for the young midfielder, though that large sum may be out of their price range.

The Reds have already splashed out £36m to bring in Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig ahead of the 2021-22 campaign. body check tags ::
