Manchester City beat Liverpool to the signature of Fluminense teenager Kayky, according to a report.
Sports Mole

Manchester City reportedly held off competition from Premier League rivals Liverpool to secure a deal for Fluminense teenager Kayky.

The 17-year-old has scored twice and registered one assist in eight appearances for his Brazilian club, having made his professional debut in March.

Man City have not officially confirmed a deal for the Brazilian, but it has been widely reported that Pep Guardiola's side have secured his signature, with a move due to take place in January 2022.

According to Globo Esporte, Liverpool were also interested in the teenager, with the Reds contacting his representatives to discuss a potential switch to Anfield.

However, the report claims that Jurgen Klopp's side never made a formal offer for the youngster and have now missed out on a deal to their English rivals.

Man City could allegedly end up paying as much as £21.5m for Kayky due to various add-ons. body check tags ::
