Liverpool are reportedly keen to re-sign Atletico Madrid forward Luis Suarez during this summer's transfer window.

The 34-year-old joined Atletico on a free transfer last September following his release from Barcelona, and the Uruguay international has been in excellent form for Diego Simeone's side, scoring 19 times in 25 La Liga appearances.

Suarez's current deal at Wanda Metropolitano is due to run until June 2022, but according to Fichajes, Liverpool are hopeful of bringing him back to Anfield for the 2021-22 campaign.

The report claims that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp wants another option at centre-forward next term, with the likes of Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri failing to provide adequate support.

Liverpool are said to be 'preparing an offer' for Suarez, who scored 82 goals in 133 appearances for the Merseyside giants between 2011 and 2014.

The reigning English champions are currently battling to secure a position in the Premier League top four, with a total of 46 points from 29 matches leaving them in seventh position, five points off fourth-placed Chelsea.
