Liverpool could rival Barcelona for Inter Milan centre-back Alessandro Bastoni this summer, according to a report.

Liverpool are reportedly ready to battle Barcelona for the signature of Inter Milan centre-back Alessandro Bastoni during this summer's transfer window.

The 21-year-old has been a key player for Inter during the 2020-21 campaign, making 32 appearances in all competitions, including 24 in Serie A.

Bastoni's future at San Siro has recently been called into question, though, with Barca thought to be keen to bring him to Camp Nou ahead of next season.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool have also identified the Italy international as a potential target, with the Reds prepared to pay in the region of £43m for his services.

Jurgen Klopp's side have struggled with injuries in the middle of their defence throughout the season, with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all currently on the sidelines.

Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies both arrived at Anfield during the January transfer window, but the former is only on loan with the English champions from Schalke 04. body check tags ::
