Liverpool have submitted a proposal to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, according to a report.
The 22-year-old has entered the final year of his contract in the French capital and speculation surrounding his future has grown in recent weeks as talks to extend his deal at PSG have failed to materialise.
Mbappe is now considering his options away from PSG and the forward is increasingly likely to leave this summer if he is unable to sign a new contract, as the Ligue 1 outfit are unwilling to let one of their most valuable assets leave for free in a year's time.
Long-term admirers Real Madrid are the first club to have made an official move to sign the Frenchman, after lodging a £137m bid on Tuesday.
Liverpool also remain interested in Mbappe and according to Mundo Deportivo, the Reds have submitted a transfer proposal to the player's representatives.
It had previously been reported that one English club had made an approach to sign Mbappe and that club is now believed to be Liverpool, while rivals Manchester United are another Premier League team who have been linked with the forward.
Mbappe has made 174 appearances across all competitions for PSG since joining from Monaco in 2018, scoring 133 goals and providing 63 assists.
