Liverpool are reportedly considering an approach for Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij ahead of the summer transfer window.

Liverpool have reportedly identified Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij as a potential summer transfer target.

While the Merseyside giants are currently well stocked for options at centre-back, the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez have missed the majority of the campaign through injury.

The first-choice pair are expected to return for the start of next season, but they will require time to get back up to speed with Premier League football.

According to FCInterNews, Liverpool have made contact with De Vrij's representatives to enquire about a move to Anfield.

The 29-year-old has been a huge hit in Serie A, impressing during four years at Lazio before helping Inter to the league title this season.

Although the Netherlands international still has two years remaining on his contract, Inter's financial situation may lead to them considering offers in the summer. body check tags ::
