Liverpool keen on Jamaal Lascelles, James Tarkowski?

Liverpool reportedly identify both Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles and Burnley centre-back James Tarkowski as possible signings during the summer.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has reportedly placed Jamaal Lascelles and James Tarkowski on his shortlist of targets for the summer.

The Merseyside giants are yet to end the current campaign with the Champions League final with Real Madrid coming up on Saturday evening, but it appears that work is already going on behind the scenes ahead of the next campaign.

According to The Independent, Klopp will look to sign one of Newcastle United centre-back Lascelles or Burnley defender Tarkowski before the start of next season.

Liverpool shelled out £75m to sign Virgil van Dijk as recently as January, but Klopp is keen to add to his numbers in the position ahead of the August deadline.

Lascelles has played a key role in Newcastle comfortably remaining in the top flight, but the 25-year-old still has over five years remaining on his contract.

Tarkowski, who has helped Burnley qualify for next season's Europa League, has four years left on his deal at Turf Moor.
