Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has ruled out the prospect of Caoimhin Kelleher leaving the club on loan in the near future.

The 23-year-old has been playing second fiddle to Alisson Becker at Anfield but kept three clean sheets for the Reds en route to the EFL Cup crown, scoring in the penalty shootout against Chelsea.

Kelleher only penned a new long-term deal with Liverpool until 2026 back in the summer, and Klopp has affirmed that the Reds have no intention to part ways with the shot-stopper.

Speaking to reporters ahead of Wednesday's FA Cup tie with Norwich City, Klopp said: "For young goalkeepers it's of course about development, and Caoimh developed here incredibly well.

"There's absolutely no intention to sell him or something like that or give him a loan. Not at all. We need a strong number two. Winning a trophy, will that help [keep him]? You'll have to ask Caoimh that.

"He has here a long-term contract and we have a long-term plan with him, but of course we want to help the boy as well become the best version of himself."

Kelleher has now made 17 senior appearances for Liverpool since joining from Ringmahon in 2015, but only four of those have come in the Premier League. body check tags ::
